Dear Parents and Carers,
The Met Office amber weather warning for snow is currently in place from 8:00pm this evening (Thursday, 8 January) until 9:00am tomorrow morning (Friday, 9 January).
At this time, I have taken the decision NOT to close the Academy in advance, as we have not yet experienced any snowfall. I am keen to avoid making a premature decision.
A final decision regarding the Academy’s opening will be made by 6:00am tomorrow morning. If a closure is necessary, this will be communicated to all stakeholders at the earliest opportunity via text message and email, and an update will also be posted on the Academy website.
If you do not hear from us, please assume that the Academy is open. However, we encourage you to check all communications before leaving home to avoid any unnecessary travel in the morning.
Should the Academy need to close, we will revert to remote learning, and all classwork for the day will be uploaded via Google Classroom for the students.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
